Last year broadcaster Carrie Cooper embarked on an adventure to create a radio documentary called Journey to the Heart of Blues alongside musician Giles Robson. The programme took them on a musical pilgrimage through Chicago, Memphis and Clarksdale Mississippi. Magic, its seemed, was on their side as the conjured up a personal meeting with the one and only, eight time Grammy Award winning blues legend, Buddy Guy.

One muggy Monday night they went along to meet him at his own blues venue ‘Buddy Guy’s Legends’ in the heart of southside Chicago. It’s a meeting neither will ever forget…
