‘Somewhere between a Rock and A Hard Place’ is an essay which combines theory, creative writing, poetry and turmoil. It is a candid and honest exploration into the depths of despair, longing for change and heartache. Through the help of Lulu’s Mum, Garden And Panic, she slowly realizes that those things aren’t necessarily bad.

Lulu MacDonald’s Art work is normally sculptural, though during phases of little studio time she relies more and more on the spoken word. She is interested in the porous boundary between humans and nature, connection, emotion and vulnerability. Her work explores how image, through time, can split and entangle. Her work is constantly grappling within the theories of re-wilding, which is brutal and dramatic but also a sort of healing.
