CREATIVE STUDIO APPLICATION PACK

ArtHouse Jersey and Andium Homes are partnering to offer a studio free of charge to an artist / creative (or group of artists / creatives) in the centre of St Helier for a year-long tenancy and in return share creativity with the local community.

WHAT IS THE OPPORTUNITY?

A 317 sq ft studio is offered free of charge in the centre of St Helier for a year in which you can create, show and sell your work. In exchange, you will run an agreed schedule of free workshops, drop-in sessions or some form of community activity accessible to Andium Homes residents and the local community so they can enjoy creativity and develop new skills. We’re anticipating something along the lines of two opportunities per week for the local community to engage in art and creativity, but we are very open to discussing any proposal that achieves the same aim. You may well wish to run other courses or workshops that members of the general public pay to attend. The space can be available from December. ArtHouse Jersey will cover Parish rates, water, electricity, buildings insurance, and wifi as well as making a contribution to furniture or key materials required to support engagement with the local community.

WHERE IS THE STUDIO?

Cyril Le Marquand Court was built by Andium Homes on the site of the former Ann Court on Charles Street in St Helier. The unit we are offering is in an area of high footfall and has commercial status, meaning the artist(s) or creative(s) will be able to display and sell their work. The unit is highly visible from the street and accessible to residents and the general public. It sits alongside a cafe and yoga studio within a largely pedestrianised area.

HOW TO APPLY

Applications can be made by completing the online form and sharing a two-page proposal that briefly details your proposed schedule of workshops / community sessions / activities across the 12 month tenancy. Before you begin your application please carefully read this application pack.
